Live Network Fiber Splicing & Troubleshooting

The Live Network Fiber Splicing & Troubleshooting course builds job‑ready technicians who can splice, test, troubleshoot, and design OSP fiber networks through intensive classroom instruction and hands‑on training with industry‑standard tools.

Description

The Live Network Fiber Splicing & Troubleshooting Certification prepares students to build, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and design Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic networks. Through a blend of focused classroom instruction and extensive hands‑on laboratory training, participants develop the technical skills required to work confidently in today’s rapidly expanding fiber industry.

The program progresses from foundational fiber splicing and testing techniques to advanced troubleshooting, restoration, and network design. Students gain practical experience using industry‑standard equipment, including fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.

Upon completion, graduates are equipped to perform fiber installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and network design across both utility and telecommunications environments.

Weeks 1 and 2 function as a combined training sequence and must be taken together to ensure students build the foundational and advanced competencies required for live‑network fiber splicing operations.

Upon completion, students receive:
- SLTC AIT Advanced Fiber Splicing (Level II) Certificate
- FIS SOC Cheetah Certificate
- AFL Fujikura Fusion Splicing Essentials Certificate

This training is VA approved.
